LightZella exists to bring light, hope, and help write a better ending
LightZella was born in Venezuela, where abandoned dogs and cats became part of my everyday life. I couldn’t look away from animals who were hungry, sick, or alone. Helping them slowly became part of who I am.
Over the years, I rescued animals whenever I could, helped find them homes, supported sterilization efforts, and stood beside local rescuers doing everything possible with very little.
When I moved to the United States, that mission did not stay behind. I opened my home to foster dogs, adopted rescued pets into my family, and continued supporting the rescuers who never stopped fighting for animals in Venezuela.
LightZella is simply the next chapter of that promise.

Mariana and Luisa have worked together since before 2023, when Mariana was still living in Venezuela. Their shared passion for helping abandoned animals created a partnership that continues today across two countries. For many years, Luisa has dedicated her life to rescuing abandoned dogs and cats on Margarita Island. After losing much of her rescued cat colony due to cruelty in her neighborhood, she made the difficult decision to move so she could continue protecting the animals in a safer place. Today, she cares for rescued animals, organizes low-cost spay and neuter campaigns, supports other rescuers whenever possible, and never stops fighting for animals with the limited resources available. Every Paw of Hope purchase helps us continue supporting rescue efforts like hers.

Love for animals knows no borders. For many years, Cristina, originally from France, has been a light for abandoned animals in Playa Caribe, Margarita Island. Her love for animals proves that compassion knows no borders. Together with Luisa, we support Cristina’s rescue efforts so that more abandoned animals can receive food, medical care, and a second chance. Cristina transformed part of her family’s restaurant into a safe haven where rescued dogs can recover while waiting for a loving forever home. Sadly, Playa Caribe has become one of the places where abandoned animals are left behind the most. Puppies, senior dogs, injured animals, and entire litters are abandoned there every week. Despite limited resources and difficult conditions, Cristina never stops helping. Hope lives here because Cristina never gives up.

Healing lives, one rescue at a time. For more than nine years, Fundación Conan Schnauzer has dedicated its work to rescuing, rehabilitating, and protecting animals in need. Many of the animals they receive arrive with severe injuries, illnesses, or have suffered abandonment and abuse. Through patience, medical care, and compassion, they give each one a chance to recover and find a better future. Their sanctuary is home to many rescued animals who depend on daily care, food, medical treatment, and a safe place to heal.
